BTS In communication

Graduate degree

A student having completed a BTS (Higher national Certificate) specialized in communication is able to devise and implement communication operations and activities in marketing, commercial or relationship operations and events management in the context of commercial, institutional, social or public campaigns.
The students are likely to be involved in the creation of forms and contents for intern and extern communication as part of the strategy set by the Organization management.

The student ‘s main activity consists in designing communication solutions meeting the expectations of diverse audiences. This involves the implementation and follow-up of communication projects, the advertiser and the contractors relationship management and the setting up of a permanent watch. The Communication BTS graduate may coordinate, plan, budget and control the various communication tasks.

Internship requirements for a bts in communication

The internship for a student attending a BTS in communication, either in the 1st or 2nd year, should be carried out in a commercial or industrial business, in a City Hall, in a communication agency or any service provider working in the communication field… but always under the responsibility of a communications professional.

Conduct communication campaigns targeting : consumers, citizens, professionals, journalists, employees : 

  • Taking part in the organisation of an event and its communication in proposing and implementing means of communication, managing a guest list…
  • Looking for catchphrases and writing texts, articles and press releases…
  • Preparing a computerized model using DTP (Desktop Publishing) softwares : posters, flyers, brochures, leaflets, logos… Ensuring the printing follow-up.
  • Developing digital communication : social networks and Web ( posts, photos, videos)

Conduct commercial operations : communication solutions sale and purchasing of services : 

  • Planning and follow-up of prospecting operations thanks to development of tools such as prospection planning, sales pitch, sales dashboard.
  • Creating newsletters, emailngs, catalogues, business cards, brochures.
  • Taking part in the search for partners, devising a partnership file, managing the relationships between all the different protagonists.
  • Preparing the negociation, carrying out a sales talk, completing the commercial proposal
  • Elaborating essential business documents for any purchasing of services : multi grid criteria, technical specifications, purchasing arguments.

Titulaire d’un bac STMG spécialité Ressources Humaines et Communication, je me suis orientée vers le BTS Assistant de Gestion PME – PMI (devenu BTS Gestion de la PME) pour sa polyvalence. Je recommande le BTS Assistant de Gestion à tous ceux qui hésitent entre plusieurs voies. En effet, ce BTS nous offre l’opportunité de pouvoir s’orienter dans le domaine commercial, administratif mais également dans le milieu des ressources humaines et de la paie. J’ai particulièrement apprécié les deux périodes de stage de cette formation. En effet, j’ai pu mettre en pratique les notions théoriques apprises en cours. De plus, grâce à la durée totale du stage soit 12 semaines réparties sur les 2 années, j’ai réellement découvert le milieu professionnel. Les cours de ressources humaines proposés par ce BTS m’ont permis aujourd’hui d’intégrer la licence Gestion du Personnel et de la Paie au sein de l’IUT de Quimper. Je réalise cette licence en formation initiale et je bénéficie ainsi de 14 semaines de stage dans un cabinet d’expertise comptable.
